Jessica Tharp, student assistant for the West Texas Collection, recently won an award for the best article published in the West Texas Historical Association Review. The editor of the WTHA Review commented that when reading Jessica’s, “Prohibition in San Angelo: the Persistence of Demon Rum,” he did not realize that she was an undergraduate and was astonished with her talent. This award is given to the best paper submitted by historians of all academic levels, including graduate and doctoral scholars! Naturally, we are extremely proud of her, and wish to congratulate her on her hard work!
