Texas Superintendent Certification

The Superintendent Certification Program is a post-master’s degree program that includes 15 semester credit hours of graduate coursework on an 8-week rotation.

Our program involves online coursework supplemented by working with a local superintendent in your area. A practicum is also required.

Professionals will receive certification after successfully completing the coursework and passing the TExES Superintendent exam.

This program is intended for those who want to advance in their careers to become a superintendent of schools.

Program Highlights

  • Our department holds State (Texas Education Agency) and national (NCATE) accreditation.

  • All courses offered in the plan are delivered in an online format for your convenience.

  • Most students complete the program in 12 months or less depending on course availability, start date and the number of courses taken during each semester.

Admission Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university
  • Texas School Principal Certification
  • 2.75 overall undergraduate GPA or 2.75 GPA in the last 60 hours of your degree

  • Students enrolled in this certification plan are not eligible for federal student loans. They are eligible for a state funded loan through the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board called the College Access Loan and Private Alternative Educational Loans.
