Saturdays, Sundays, and ASU Observed Holidays

Health Services Access: If you paid the Spring Medical Services Fee (MSF) for this past Spring, you have access to care through June 4th.

June 5th, First Day of Summer Session I: ONLY students that have paid the MSF are eligible to receive services at the Campus Clinic and Counseling Center. Please pay the MSF at the Campus Bursar/Student Accounts Office and not at the Clinic. Please be ready to present your receipt of MSF payment for Summer I and your ASU ID along with your State of Texas ID at all Clinic locations to guarantee access.

The University Health Clinic and the Center for Counseling Services are jointly based in the clinic facility on Johnson Street south of the Office Annex Buildings. Both entities provide confidential services to ASU students who have paid the current Medical Services Fee.

Angelo State University now offers free healthcare transportation on Saturdays

Now you have a free ride should a medical issue arise on the weekend (Saturdays ONLY). Please bring your ASU OneCard, an approved Texas state ID and your insurance card (if you have insurance) when checking in at the Clinics. The RamTram route includes the Shannon Clinic Urgent Care South and Urgent Care West locations.

    Campus Student Health Insurance Plan offered through Academic Health Plans

  • Mental Health Emergencies

    For mental health emergencies during regular hours:

    • Contact Counseling Services at the Health Clinic at 325-942-2171, or
    • Go to the nearest hospital emergency room

    For night or weekend mental health emergencies:

    • Contact University Police immediately at 325-942-2071 so that a counselor can be paged, or
    • Go to the nearest hospital emergency room, or
    • Call the MHMR Crisis Hotline at 325-653-5933

    If you have used the contracted Health Services at the ASU Campus Clinic or at one of the Shannon Clinic Urgent Care locations and need to express concerns about the way you were treated, quality of care, or any concerns in general, please do the following:

    1. Go to the Shannon Medical Center Form
    2. Fill out the page completely and make sure that under the Comment section that you clearly state that you are an ASU student and note when you used the service.
    3. Submit the form

    Shannon Clinic will contact you and resolve your inquiry in a timely manner.
