Community Foundations & Scholarship Organizations

Community foundations and scholarship organizations strive to improve the quality of life of their surrounding area by helping philanthropic people donate funds, including several scholarships, to benefit the region. See examples of community foundations and scholarship organizations below.

General Scholarship Databases

Below are a few examples of scholarship databases. You may notice an increased amount of junk mail in your email inbox if you register with a scholarship database website.

Always keep an eye out for any possible scams (charging a fee, scholarship drawings…) as many databases do not review the applications thoroughly.

Tips and Tricks

  • Look for scholarships at professional organizations for your career.
  • Use a professional sounding email.
  • Spend an hour a day on scholarship applications.
  • Reuse references/recommendations, resumes, and essays.
  • Refrain from explaining the financial burden of college. Instead, discuss how this degree will enhance your future.
